In fact, we&#8217;ve been stopping here for years but never realized anyone lived on the bay as it&#8217;s quite remote. The last time we were having lunch at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/?p=557\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lighthouse Kitchen at Cape D&#8217;Or<\/a>, we met the couple from Boston that have a summer place on the bay. They fell in love with the area some 30 years ago and built a log cabin next to the bay. They have no running water or electricity in their cabin&nbsp;yet come back every summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/HorseshoeBay7857.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1709\" alt=\"Horseshoe Bay\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/HorseshoeBay7857.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a style=\"color: #ff4b33; line-height: 24px;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/HorseShoeBay_7860.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1667\" alt=\"Horse Shoe Bay\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/HorseShoeBay_7860.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you see this area, you&#8217;ll understand why &#8230; it breathtakingly beautiful and it&#8217;s typically cool. If you&#8217;re an American wishing to escape the summer heat, this is the place to visit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/HorseShoeBay_7805.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1669\" alt=\"Horse Shoe Bay\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/HorseShoeBay_7805.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last time we were there, there was no one else but a lone fisherman at the waters edge.
