The interior camping we have done at Algonquin involved multiple portages with gear and canoe. In\u00a0Kejimkujik, we had no portages to our campsite so we were able to take much more photographic gear than normal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2uny8Pc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Episode 1 of our TV series<\/a> covers\u00a0<strong>Kejimkujik National Park<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2uny8Pc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2uny8Pc noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7200 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/coming-eastlink-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"135\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/coming-eastlink-1.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/coming-eastlink-1-300x68.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nova Scotia tourism is even catching this wave and starting to promote the province as an excellent destination for night sky viewing. We specifically came to film\u00a0Kejimkujik for our upcoming series and shoot a night sky time-lapse, but\u00a0Kejimkujik is also a great destination for those who like to hike and camp in the wilderness.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Kejimkujik-Milky-Way-82850.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6653\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Kejimkujik-Milky-Way-82850.jpg\" alt=\"Kejimkujik Milky Way\" width=\"1280\" height=\"854\" \/><\/a>\u00a0If you&#8217;re planning on going, you can rent a canoe at Jakes Landing from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/whynotadventure.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whynot Adventure<\/a>. Don&#8217;t forget your park pass! Permits for National Parks are free this year #Canada150, but you still need to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commandesparcs-parksorders.ca\/webapp\/wcs\/stores\/servlet\/ProductDisplay?storeId=22953&amp;urlLangId=-1&amp;productId=524528\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">order<\/a> one in advance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Jakes-Landing-8682.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6656\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Jakes-Landing-8682.jpg\" alt=\"Jakes Landing 8682\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We stayed at a campsite that had a shelter covering a picnic table. In fact, there are volunteers that search\u00a0for Blanding Turtle\u00a0nests during egg-laying season to protect the nests against predation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Turtle_0608.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-6639\" src=\"http:\/\/www.visitingnovascotia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Turtle_0608-1024x540.jpg\" alt=\"Turtle_0608\" width=\"640\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carolyn was up early each morning out in the canoe and was able to spot deer by the lake shore.
